I can’t say I’m surprised that during a pandemic I found myself hit with financial hardship. Yet, I kind of was. I was supposed to make all my dreams happen…things were supposed to be good. While it really sucks to have to grip so tightly to literally every cent you get, I’ve learned some things.

Money doesn’t buy happiness but it surely brings peace of mind.

You know how the saying goes. Nine times out of ten I hear it from super-wealthy people who spend millions on pointless things. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against the rich giving that sort of money-related advice — I just think it’s ironic. Anyway, in moments where I didn’t know where my next meal would come from, I definitely would've been happy to receive a little bit of money to get something to eat.

When I was staring down bills I knew I wouldn't be able to pay, I prayed for a miracle that would allow me to pay it. No, I don’t think money in of itself brings happiness but the ability to not worry about how you’ll pay for this or that makes living a whole lot easier. I’ve never in my life said, “gee, I love struggling. I hope I never get any money to get my basic needs met.”

It’s really easy to become…
